Do I have to join to post on the forum?

To do anything interesting, you have to register. The most a guest can do is tell us why you passed up on our forum or respond to polls the staff puts out asking for feedback about what our members and potential members would like to see on here. Advertising your forum or requesting affiliation is also guest-friendly.

I'm new to role-playing, can I still join?

All skill levels are welcome here! The only way to get better is to practice. A newbie can learn a lot from veteran role players. All we ask is that you try your hardest.

Can I use chat-speak?

You can when you're not IC. If you're OOC, chat-speak it up.

What is IC and OOC?

IC stands for in-character and OOC stands for out-of-character. If you're in a role play thread and you need to say something as yourself, put OOC before what you need to say.

What can I use for my avatar?

You can use anything for your avatar/avi as long as it complies with Proboards TOS. We have avatars pre-uploaded for your use, but if you would like to upload your own, you can do that under the Avatar tab when you edit your profile.

What is a signature/siggy?

A signature/siggie is the text or image that shows up after all of your posts. You can edit it under the Personal tab when you edit you profile. 

How do I post in/reply to a thread? 

Below the last post on a page there is a Reply button. Click on that and you'll be brought to the reply page. You can middle click it as well and it will bring you to the reply page in a new tab.

Why do I have to make posts 1, 2, and 3 before I can do anything?

It makes things way more organized for staff and it only takes a few to bang the posts out. I spent a lot of my role playing years doing that and eventually I grew to respect and really like that system. The rules one especially. I don't have you do it to be mean or a dictator, it just helps me know that the rules have been read. 

Why do I need a character tag?

Once again this is one of the things that was a requirement in every forum role play I took part in over the years. It makes everything look super pretty and neat and organized. If you don't want to grab your IMG code every time you go to post, you can go to the Settings tab when you edit you profile and scroll down to Posting Default and click on BBC Code. You can put your IMG code there and it will automatically be there whenever you go to reply to a post. Just delete the code when you're not in a role playing thread. 

I'm on mobile, can I add my character tag when I get to a desktop?

That's completely fine. If I notice it I'll most likely add it myself, but if I don't get to it you can do it when you're on a desktop. The Posting Default helps a lot though.

Will my account get deleted if I'm inactive?

I don't believe in deleting accounts, however, if I feel that you've abandoned your character(s) (completely inactive for over six months), I will send them to the Graveyard labeled Abandoned. You'll receive an email so you're not completely left out of the loop. If you come back and want to use them again, send me a PM and we'll be more than happy to revive your character(s).

What is a locked thread?

A locked thread is something you can read but not reply to.

Where can I request features that I think would be cool?

You can submit a request to the Requests & Concerns thread in the Support board.
