The city of Cannes is located on the France Riviera, making it a beautiful tourist hot spot. Cannes is known for its luxurious hotels and restaurants. A fifteen-minute ferry ride from the main city will take you to the island where the man in the iron mask spent eleven years, his cell still on display in the Musée de la Mer on the same island.
Tsunamis took most of this beautiful city. Debris and weakened, collapsed buildings cover most of Cannes. The higher grounds are in much better shape, but be careful who you run into. Cannes isn't a ghost town yet.
